Introduction
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for GMC Medic. It applies to all subscriptions and one-time purchases made through GMC Medic, operated by Nyvion LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”).
This Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service by reference.
1. Subscription Cancellation (Guardian and Shield)
You can cancel your Guardian or Shield subscription at any time. There is no cancellation fee.
How to cancel:
- •Go to the billing portal in your GMC Medic dashboard and click “Cancel Subscription,” or
- •Email support@getgmcmedic.com from the email associated with your account and request cancellation.
When cancellation takes effect: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You'll keep access to the Service through that date. You will not be charged for any subsequent billing periods.
No partial refunds for unused time. If you cancel mid-cycle, you will not receive a refund for the remainder of the billing period. You will continue to have access through the end of the period you've already paid for.
2. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee for New Subscriptions
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first subscription payment for Guardian or Shield. If you are not satisfied with the Service for any reason, contact us within 14 days of your initial subscription payment and we'll refund the full amount.
How to request a money-back guarantee refund:
- •Email support@getgmcmedic.com within 14 days of your initial payment.
- •Include your account email and the reason for your refund request (we ask for feedback to improve, but a refund is not conditional on providing it).
When refunds are processed: Refunds are processed within 5 business days of approval. The funds may take an additional 5-10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank and card issuer.
The 14-day money-back guarantee applies only to:
- •Your first subscription to GMC Medic. Renewals, upgrades, and resubscriptions after cancellation are not covered.
- •One refund per customer or business entity. Repeated subscribe-and-refund cycles are considered abuse and may result in account termination.
3. EU and UK Consumer Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have a separate statutory right under the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU (and the equivalent UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of entering into the contract, without giving any reason.
3.1 How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal
To exercise your right of withdrawal, email us at support@getgmcmedic.com within 14 days of your subscription start date or one-time purchase date. Please include:
- •Your account email.
- •The date of your subscription or purchase.
- •A clear statement that you wish to withdraw from the contract.
You may use the model withdrawal form provided by your local consumer protection authority, but it is not required.
3.2 Effect of Withdrawal
If you withdraw within 14 days, we will refund all payments received from you in connection with the withdrawn contract, using the same payment method you used for the original transaction. We will process the refund within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice.
3.3 Important: Consent to Begin Service During the Withdrawal Period
By signing up for GMC Medic and running your first scan during the 14-day withdrawal period, you give us your express consent to begin providing the Service immediately, and you acknowledge that:
- •If you exercise your right of withdrawal after we have begun providing the Service, you may be charged a proportionate amount for the Service provided up to the point of withdrawal.
In practice, for monthly subscriptions, our 14-day money-back guarantee (Section 2) is at least as favorable as the EU statutory right of withdrawal in most circumstances, and you are entitled to whichever provides you the better outcome.
4. Failed Payments and Involuntary Cancellation
If a payment fails (declined card, expired card, insufficient funds, etc.), we will:
- Attempt to charge again over the following 14 days.
- Email you to update your payment method.
- If payment is not resolved within 14 days of the initial failure, suspend your account.
- If payment is still not resolved after 30 days, cancel your subscription.
To restore access after involuntary cancellation, update your payment method and resubscribe.
5. Price Changes
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' advance notice by email. Price changes do not apply retroactively to billing periods already paid for.
If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect. If you continue your subscription after the price change effective date, you are deemed to have accepted the new price.
6. Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your card issuer rather than contacting us first, we may:
- •Suspend or terminate your account immediately while the dispute is open.
- •Provide your card issuer with documentation of your subscription and use of the Service.
- •Decline to provide future service to you.
We strongly prefer to resolve billing concerns directly. Email support@getgmcmedic.com before initiating a chargeback and we will work in good faith to address your concern.
7. Taxes
All prices are exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise. Where applicable, we collect VAT, GST, or sales tax at checkout. Refunds will include any taxes collected on the refunded amount.
8. Account Deletion vs. Subscription Cancellation
Cancellation stops billing. Your account remains accessible (with limited features) until the end of the paid period.
Account deletion is separate and irreversible. Once you delete your account, your data is removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy — typically within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
